QR, kiosk & tablet ordering
QR order-and-pay at the table with split bills and tipping, a self-order kiosk, and a fixed table tablet — all firing into the same kitchen.

What it is
In-venue self-ordering gives guests three ways to order without flagging down staff: scan a QR code at the table, walk up to a self-order kiosk, or use a tablet fixed to the table. All three read the same menu and fire into the same kitchen as every other channel.
What problem it solves
Guests wait twice in every service: once to order, once to pay. Staff spend the busiest hour running cards instead of hosting. Self-ordering removes both waits — guests order the moment they decide and settle the bill from their own phone, including splitting it.
How it works
QR at the table:
-
The guest scans the table's QR code and lands straight on the menu — no app to install.
-
They order, items fire to the kitchen, and a call waiter button is one tap away whenever a human is wanted.
-
At the end, they pay from the phone: the whole bill, an even split between 2 and 20 people, or exactly the items they had. Tipping is built in with quick percentages or a custom amount, and card or wallet payment finishes it.
-
On the admin side, the QR page manages every table's code — copy the link or download a print-ready QR image — shows live sessions, and lets staff end a stuck session so the guest can simply scan again.
Kiosk:
- The kiosk runs fullscreen self-ordering with card and wallet payment, and resets itself to the start after a minute of inactivity, ready for the next guest. The admin page tracks kiosk orders and revenue and offers a choice of layout looks.
Tablet at the table:
- A fixed tablet checks guests in by QR scan, code or table number, then offers the menu, cart and bill — with the same split-bill and tipping as QR. Left alone, it settles into a branded welcome screen and wakes on a tap with the table already set.
Everything inside the system
- Table QR codes with downloadable print-ready images and live session management.
- Split the bill three ways: full, even (2–20 people), or by item.
- Tipping with quick percentages or a custom amount, on QR checkout and the tablet bill.
- Call-waiter button on the QR flow.
- Kiosk mode with card and wallet payment, layout options and automatic idle reset.
- Tablet mode with guest check-in, menu, cart, bill and a branded idle screen.
This is built into NexDine — there is no separate order-and-pay app to buy, and guests never install anything. Card and wallet payments (Apple Pay and Google Pay where the guest's device supports them) are processed by Stripe.
