Floor plan & tables

What it is

The floor plan is a drawing of your actual room — tables, bar, walls, doors, plants, the lot — built once in a drag-and-drop studio. That single plan then drives everything that touches the floor: the live service view, table-aware bookings, and a public floor map on your website.

What problem it solves

Paper floor plans and generic grid layouts never match the real room, so bookings get assigned to tables that do not exist and staff translate in their heads all night. When the plan in the system is the room, the translation stops — and because guests see exactly the same drawing, "the table by the window" means the same thing to everyone.

How it works

1. Design the room in the studio: drag tables into place, set each one's shape, capacity and rotation, and dress the room from an element catalogue of thirty pieces across architecture, seating, service, decor and outdoor — walls, doors, booths, the bar, plants, umbrellas and more. Snap-to-grid, undo and redo, and a background image tracing mode make it quick to match your real layout.

2. Group the room into zones — dining room, terrace, function room — each with its own colour, reservability and rules. Define table combinations so two tables can join for a six-top without inventing a fake table.

3. The same plan appears in the service views: the floor plan overview shows live table statuses and active sessions, and the live service screen lays tonight's orders and covers over the room.

4. Guests meet the identical drawing twice: the public floor map on your website lets them explore the room before they visit, and the booking wizard shows the live plan so they pick the exact table (or combination) they will sit at.

Everything inside the system

• Drag-and-drop studio with grid snapping, undo/redo and background-image tracing.
• Element catalogue: 30 element kinds across architecture, seating, service, decor and outdoor.
• Tables with shape, capacity, seat count, accessibility flag and live status.
• Zones and rooms with reservability, and table combinations for larger parties.
• Multiple floor plans per venue.
• Exact visual parity between the studio, the service views, the public floor map and the booking wizard — one shared renderer.

This is built into NexDine — there is no separate floor-plan tool to buy or log into, and the plan your staff run service from is the plan your guests book against.
