Orders, live service & takeaway
Orders from every channel land in one board — with a live service view, a waiter station and a takeaway queue.

What it is
Every order your venue takes — at the table, by QR, at the kiosk, online, over the phone, or through a delivery marketplace — lands in one order pipeline. On top of that pipeline sit three working views: the orders board for managing everything, a live service view of the whole floor, and a fullscreen waiter station for front of house. Takeaway gets its own pickup queue.
What problem it solves
Most venues watch five devices during service: a POS screen, a delivery tablet or two, a phone, and a docket rail. Nothing agrees on what is actually happening. When every channel feeds the same pipeline, one screen answers "what's on right now" — and voiding a mistake actually cleans up after itself in the kitchen.
How it works
-
Orders arrive from any channel and are normalised into one pipeline with a single status flow — received, confirmed, preparing, ready, served, completed. Delivery marketplace orders come in through your optional Deliverect or Doshii connection and join the same queue.
-
The orders board shows the lot: filter by channel, status or search, watch active orders move, and manage open QR-table tabs alongside. Voiding an order requires a manager-level permission and a written reason, refunds any captured payment, and removes the order's kitchen tickets in the same step.
-
The live service view is the manager's picture of the room: the floor plan with each table's session and spend, live kitchen tickets with colour-coded ageing, tonight's covers and pacing, the waitlist, live labour percentage and open tabs — refreshed every half minute.
-
The waiter station runs fullscreen on any device. Waiter calls from tables ring in with an escalating urgency timer; ready orders slide in the moment the kitchen bumps them, with a mark-delivered action; and a waiter can jump from a call straight into taking that table's order.
-
The takeaway queue tracks pickup orders from open to ready to collected, with one-tap bumping and pickup ETAs. Counter staff can take a phone order from the same screen.
-
Orders placed after closing are never rejected — they auto-schedule to your next opening time (plus prep time), and the guest sees the honest ready time up front. Dine-in is exempt, and public-holiday hours are respected.
Everything inside the system
- One order pipeline for dine-in, QR, kiosk, online, phone, takeaway and delivery channels.
- Orders board with channel and status filters, search, and open-tab management.
- Live service view: floor plan, kitchen tickets, covers, pacing, waitlist, labour and exceptions.
- Waiter calls with urgency escalation, ready-order alerts and audio pings.
- Takeaway pickup queue with ETAs and counter ordering.
- Out-of-hours orders auto-scheduled to the next open slot.
- Voiding with mandatory reason, permission checks, refund handling and kitchen-ticket cleanup.
This is built into NexDine — there is no separate order-management tool to buy or log into. Payments are processed by Stripe. Delivery marketplaces connect via Deliverect or Doshii if you already use them, and every connection is set up and managed from inside NexDine.
