Finance operations
A signed-off daily close with variance status, approvals with thresholds, bills and banking, cash drawer, tips, invoices and a live Xero connection.

What it is
Finance operations turns the venue's daily trade into an accountable money picture: one signed-off record per day reconciling orders, payments, cash, card takings and refunds, with approvals, supplier bills, banking, cash drawer counts and tip distribution all in the same place — and an optional Xero connection to keep your accountant in their own tool.
What problem it solves
In most venues the money picture assembles once a month, in someone else's software, from exports nobody fully trusts. By then a cash variance is four weeks old and unexplainable. A daily close with a variance status and a manager's sign-off makes every day account for itself while the answers are still findable.
How it works
-
Daily close builds one record per trading day — orders, payments, cash, card takings, refunds — computes the cash variance with a traffic-light status, and a manager signs it off with a note. Any day can be rebuilt if something was corrected after the fact.
-
Approvals put thresholds on sensitive actions: policies route anything over the limit to the right approver role, and the queue shows pending overrides waiting for a manager's decision.
-
Loss prevention surfaces exceptions for audit — voids, comps, refunds and discounts with pattern flags. It deliberately does no staff scoring; it shows patterns, people make judgements.
-
Bills, banking and cash: supplier bills are matched, approved and paid; imported bank statements are matched to transactions with rule-based suggestions that always need a human confirm; cash drawer counts reconcile each shift with variance and safe drops.
-
Customer invoices cover function and event billing with payment capture and AR ageing, and tips shows each day's tip pool distributed across staff by hours worked and role weighting.
-
Connect Xero and the daily close posts as a balanced journal entry — GST line included — and customer invoices push across, with a sync history showing every run. Your accountant stays in Xero; your team never leaves NexDine.
