Can you cook around allergies?

Yes. Tell us when you book so it reaches the kitchen with the reservation, and remind your waiter on the night. Anything severe gets its own plated dish.

Is there enough for vegetarians and vegans?

Always at least two entrées and two mains, plus most of the snacks. The cauliflower is vegan and is one of the dishes people come back for.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Most of the menu is or can be made gluten free. We cook in a shared kitchen, so we will tell you plainly what we cannot guarantee.

How long is a gift card valid?

Three years from the date of purchase, which is the minimum the Australian Consumer Law allows. The expiry is printed on the card.

Can a gift card be used more than once?

Yes. Whatever is left stays on the card until it is spent or it expires.

What if the gift card email is lost?

Call us with the name it was bought under and we will find it and resend it.

Can I order to take home?

Yes, through the order page. Most of the kitchen list travels well, and pickup is usually ready in about twenty minutes.

Not ourselves. Pickup is from the Gertrude Street door, and the bar will pour you something while you wait.

All major cards, and cash at the till. Every price on the menu includes GST.

A surcharge of 10% applies on Sundays and 15% applies on public holidays. It is shown on the menu and on your bill.

Yes, by item or evenly. Tell your waiter before you pay and they will set it up at the till.

What do you do with my booking details?

We use them to hold your table and to contact you about that booking. We do not sell them. The privacy policy sets out the detail.

How do I get my details removed?

Email us and we will delete what we hold, except anything we are legally required to keep, such as tax records.

Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?

The bar is walk-in only and always has room to stand. For the dining room, book ahead — especially Friday and Saturday, which fill about a week out.

How far ahead can I book?

Tables open 60 days ahead. For the upstairs room or a whole-restaurant booking, talk to us earlier and we will hold the date while you decide.

What happens if we are running late?

We hold your table for 15 minutes. Call us if you are further behind — we will keep it if the night allows, and tell you honestly if it does not.

How long do we get the table for?

Two hours as a rule, and longer on a quiet night. We do not run a timer, and we will not move you mid-conversation.

Can we book for a big group?

Up to seven books online. Eight or more goes through an enquiry so we can set a menu with you. Twenty-two fit upstairs, sixty in the whole room.
